Step 1: Create Your Starry Sky
- Place your black construction paper on a protected work surface.
- Dip a paintbrush or toothbrush into white paint.
- Gently splatter the paint onto the black paper to create stars in the night sky.
- Set aside to dry.
Step 2: Add Planets and Stars
- While the paint is drying, cut circles of different sizes from colorful construction paper.
- Glue the circles onto your black paper to create planets.
- Add colorful star stickers around the background for extra sparkle.
Step 3: Make the Moon
- Crumple a piece of tin foil into a loose ball.
- Dip the foil into black, white, and grey paint.
- Turn a paper plate upside down and stamp the painted foil all over the bottom of the plate.
- Continue stamping until the plate looks like the surface of the moon.
- Allow the paint to dry.
Step 4: Cut and Attach the Moon
- Once dry, decide how you’d like your moon to look:
- Use the whole moon.
- Cut it in half.
- Cut it into a crescent shape.
- Glue the moon onto your starry background.
Step 5: Create Your Astronaut
- Print and cut out the astronaut from the provided PDF template.
- Color the astronaut using crayons, markers, or pencil crayons.
- Glue the astronaut onto the moon.
Step 6: Personalize Your Astronaut (Optional)
- Cut out the face area inside the astronaut’s helmet.
- Glue a small photo of the child behind the opening so it looks like they are the astronaut exploring space!
Step 7: Display Your Space Scene
- Allow everything to dry completely, then proudly display your space adventure masterpiece! ππβ
